It’s been a while since I last posted here.
My dad got sick and was refusing care – putting a lot of strain onto me. He died in October last year.
My son also started college in September, so – after years of home educating and caring – I now find myself with more time and energy for ME!
I turned 40 in December and celebrated with the most incredible trip to New Zealand. Whilst there, I also had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted in my house and they are GORGEOUS!
I wanted that trip to be a portal – the end of my old identity as the woman who was always there for everyone else, giving love, time, care.
And the start of a new decade and the next era of my life.
The era where I get to be a bit more selfish and put my needs and dreams first.
The really magical bit?
On the plane out to New Zealand, I listened to The Life of a Showgirl album A LOT of times. Listening to Eldest Daughter had me in tears. I am an eldest daughter (and I think that for most of us who relate to that identity, it goes hand in hand with things like Daddy issues, early parentification, sandwich caring) and so are most of my close friends and clients.
On the flight home, I met Simon Squibb!! It was as we were boarding the plane, a chaotic time, and I absolutely failed to make the most of the opportunity, but it felt like the most wonderful sign. A reminder that everyone has a dream, and that those dreams wouldn’t come to us if we weren’t capable of making them a reality.
So you’ll notice that I’m now focusing specifically on eldest daughter entrepreneurs, and turning my 1:1 Hop, Skip, Jump programme into a group offer.
